Emergency Response To An Armed Intruder<\/a> course. I am a member of a team of trainers here in Missoula, and we have taught over a thousand people what to do if the unthinkable happens. Our full day course has been extremely well received and we have taught teachers and staff of the public schools, the university, hospital employees, government workers and others in these classes.<\/p>\nI will continue to teach these classes as well as other writing and teaching on this topic. My goal is to empower as many people as I can with the information they need to survive the unthinkable. I don’t want people hiding and hoping and dying.<\/p>\n

The federal teaching uses run, hide, fight.<\/p>\n
The Safariland course uses run, lock, fight as hiding and hoping isn’t a plan, and we feel lock denotes acting and doing something better.<\/p>\n
In my private programs I now use escape, deny, attack back. Same thing, just different words.<\/p>\n
Regardless of the labels, these are your three options in an active shooter situation.<\/p>\n
