Book Safe review? Yes! A book safe can be a simple way to hide something in plain site. You can make your own, or you can buy those that are manufactured especially for the purpose of hiding things. Many books have been hollowed out in the past to hide things inside. If you have a large book collection as I do, it can be very easy to hide things as it would be difficult to go through them all.<\/p>\n

I was sent this BookSafe by HomeSafe in exchange for a review. I like it for what it is. As I said above, books have been hollowed out to hide things for a long time, and this is just a manufactured one that is made in China. It won’t pass for a real book on close inspection, but hidden among books on a full book shelf, it would most likely go unnoticed.<\/p>\n

The metal box inside has a very cheap combination lock. It will work to keep honest people honest, but it is not a lock, nor a box, that would keep someone who really wanted in out. You are counting on people not finding this, not on the box and lock to be high security.<\/p>\n

The dimensions of the metal box are approximately : 5.5 inches by 9 inches and 1.5 inches deep. Big enough to hold small objects, cash, etc. The dimensions on the package state 240x155x55 mm. (I believe those are the outside dimensions.)<\/p>\n

It would probably blend in better if it came with a book cover as well. Even Dictionaries have book covers. That would increase the cost I imagine. Even without, it still blends in with books and most likely will go unnoticed. Especially with as many books as I have.<\/p>\n

Bottom Line: Good little metal lock box hidden in a book looking case for hiding among books on a book shelf.<\/p>\n
